Dear Kolleges!
A good interdisciplinary cooperation is the best condition for an optimal treatment of children´s burns. This year‘s congress of the Van Swieten Association is dedicated to the child under the topic of acute treatment in children.
Together with burns specialists of the Shriners Hospitals in the U.S. and German speaking at home and abroad, we would like to initialize an international interdisciplinary discussion about treatment of acute pediatric burns to specific intensive care, past-treatment and follow-up, respectively proof corrections. Therefore various speakers with great competence and experience are expected.
In addition to our main theme of “pediatric burns”, we have been able to attain experts who will tell us about their experience on radiation exposure. Furthermore, we are pleased to offer a refresher workshop for pediatric emergency physicians, including a children‘s emergency-medical-simulation. Due to the rapid development and the special ways of simulation medicine today, this interesting topic found a place in our congress.
In addition to the scientific program, Vienna provides many historical and cultural attractions including Christmas decorations and many Christmas fairs in that time. We are looking forward to welcome you in the “Donauspital” in Vienna to our congress to exchange ideas and experiences with you and our specialists.
